Beeswax Thread Conditioner

Applying a thin coating of beeswax to thread smooths the fibres of the thread, preventing fraying and making it easier for thread to glide through fabric as you sew.

It also strengthens threads and helps to avoid tangling, and is particularly useful on metallic threads and other specialty threads that are prone to catching.

Whether you're an embroiderer, quilter or just for general hand-sewing, a wee block of beeswax in your sewing kit is essential, and we've made it even better by putting it in a simple tin to ensure your wax stays clean, and only goes where you put it.

To condition your thread, hold the top and bottom of the open tin between thumb and fingers, with your thumb on the wax.  Run the thread between the wax and your thumb, using gentle pressure to not apply too much wax, then smooth the thread between thumb and forefinger to even out the wax coating.

Our 50 ml tin of pure beeswax thread wax will last through years and many, many sewing projects.

International Orders and Bee Products

We send our beeswax candles, wraps, DIY blend, and polishes  worldwide and have never had a problem with border restrictions.   Generally finished beeswax products are acceptable for import in most countries.

However, in some countries raw beeswax may not to be allowed in order to protect the health of their local bees.  We get it.  After all, Kev and  Dee are beekeepers, first and foremost.  On that basis, we opt to make our beeswax blocks and pellets available to New Zealand addresses only.

Some countries may have various border or import charges - please note that you will be responsible for any such charges.

What about packaging?  Do you use plastic?

We're committed to eliminating plastic wherever we can - the clear bags our kits are packaged in are NOT plastic.  They are genuine cellophane, made from vegetable cellulose and are fully biodegradable and home compostable.

And we're very happy to announce that the black courier bags we use are also NOT plastic!  They are made from plants and are fully biodegradable, and home compostable.  And, a little oddly, they smell like fresh toast, or maybe popcorn!

Best product ever

It is always suggested that 'there is nothing new under the sun'

But there is! I had never heard of thread conditioner in all of my 70 plus years of doing embroidery, but saw it, bought it, and cannot recommend this highly enough! Wonderful product. Thank you for making my hobby even more enjoyable!

A delight to use

This wax smells so beautiful, just like beeswax should. It feels nice and is easy to use, and really helps the thread flow. I used to stitch crossstitch without wax and the floss would catch and the fibres woyld split, so I looked for a wax to help. First I tried wax from China but it was hard to use because of the container it was in. So I looked locally and found Dees Bees and gave it a try. Its a life changer. Bees wax washes out with water with no soap required so its perfect.
